Out with the old, in with the new...

This is my first blog. I'm hoping to use this blog site as a sort of family journal/record and also use it to keep friends and family updated as to what is going on in the Holden house. We have just started a new chapter in our lives and a new year, so I figure why not start a new blog.

Our old chapter ended with the passing of the two greatest dogs in all the world. Stinky and Pooh. Also known as Morgan and Madison. Pooh was my dog. She was my shadow. She followed me where ever I went. She loved to give kisses and hugs (literally hugs) and if you looked into her sweet eyes you could see all the way into her soul. She developed a brain tumor at the end of 2007 and survived until July 2008 when we stopped her suffering. She was 8 years old.

Stinky was Kevin's dog. She was with us through thick and thin. She was there when he proposed and she was even at our wedding. She went to work with him everyday for 4 years and when he couldn't take her anymore we got her the Pooh as her very own puppy. They were best buds and always together. Stinky was called Stinky because she was a little stinker. She would take your socks right off your feet and run away with them. She survived 4 different surgeries, hip dysplasia, arthritis, cataracts, numerous tumors and cysts and was spunky and lively almost completely up to the end. She was 12 years old and died on Christmas Eve 2008.

Another part of the old chapter was renting. We have rented for 15 years. We have moved 10 times in the last 15 years and we are DONE! Our plan is to purchase a home for our very own this year. Hopefully even by this summer.

So the new chapter starts with new dogs (not better or worse - just new and different). Samantha and Cooper will be our playmates throughout this chapter and hopefully we will have a nice house of our own with a BIG yard for them to play in.
